Turning dep - track guidance 2

11.11.2009

Submission:

First of all, radar service can fill in to provide track guidance. "Available" within 10km means that the nominal beginning of the turn and the nominal intercept point must be within 10km. I agree that a missed approach has no such requirement but it is assumed that a NPA missed approach will always have track guidance in the initial and intermediate phase. The exception to that is the ILS, obviously.

The bottom line is: When you cannot provide track guidance within 10km on an SID, speak to an operator and file a difference from PANS-OPS if the operator agrees.
