See figure II-1-1-9 (New edition) (click here), which shows the W and X surfaces - but not the Y surfaces - extended upwards towards the FAP. Note also the requirement to check a 2.5% plane originating in the plane of the GP/X surface to protect early turns (or prohibit early turns).
