Missed approach track adjustment

19.11.2010

Submission:

PANS-OPS Part I - S4,C6 6.3 STRAIGHT MISSED APPROACH 6.3.1 ... It includes turns less than or equal to 15 degrees The above is reinforced by 6.4.1 We are then given Figure I-4-6-10 which depicts a turn construction for missed approach turn 15deg or less at the MAPt. This figure is not referenced anywhere in the text and includes a turn construction. I believe the figure is a 'left over' from an earlier amendment and is no longer valid. The equivalent diagrams for a straight departure with a track adjustment can be easily translated for use with the missed approach. What do other designers think?

I find Figure I-4-6-10 quite confusing especially the “do” distance to the lower obstacle.
